Bi-Co Multicultural Offices to Host Black History Month Convocation

In collaboration with Haverford’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, Bryn Mawr’s Office of Intercultural affairs will host a Bi-Co Black History Month Convocation at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Haverford MCC in Stokes Hall.

The event, a celebration of the history of the contributions black people have made to this country, will feature philosopher Lina Buffington, who is an administrator and faculty member at LaSalle, as a guest speaker.  Buffington, who earned her Ph.D. in philosophy at Emory University, is an alumna of the Mellon-Mayes Undergraduate Fellowship Program and former director of college recruitment for Philadelphia Futures, a nonprofit organization that helps promising urban high-school students  pursue and complete college degrees. The event will also showcase student talent in music and poetry.
