The College has contracted with a new provider of medical services for work-related injury and illness, reports Environmental Health and Safety Officer Don Abramowitz.
WorkNet Occupational Medicine will join the College’s panel of designated health-care providers for injuries covered by Workers’ Compensation, replacing WorkWell, which has moved to a new location and is no longer accepting new injury cases from the College.
WorkNet is located at 170 N. Henderson Road, Suite 200, King of Prussia, PA 19406, and its phone number is (610) 337-1558.
The practice offers same-day appointments and, like the old provider, is affiliated with a variety of specialists and services. It offers a complimentary shuttle van and will arrange to pick up and return employees to campus. Its offices are open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“As always, if you are injured at work,” Abramowitz notes, “you may obtain emergency treatment from any hospital or health-care provider. Contact Public Safety at x7911 for emergency assistance.”
“Non-emergency and follow-up care must be obtained through the College’s designated panel of health care providers to qualify for workers compensation benefits,” says Abramowitz. “If you are injured at work, please notify your supervisor or contact me directly as soon as practical, and I will assist you in obtaining care and coverage.”
The Environmental Health and Safety Office is located in the Ward Building; Abramowitz’s telephone number is x. 5166. More information about Worker’s Comp procedures is available on the College’s Occupational Safety website.
