As part of the 125th anniversary celebration of Bryn Mawr College’s “Bold Vision. For Women. For the World,” the College is partnering with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program to create a mural in West Philadelphia highlighting advances in the education of women.
On Thursday, Sept. 23, the Bryn Mawr community will have a chance to review design plans for the project with muralist Shira Walinsky and Mural Arts Program Executive Director Jane Golden. Walinsky and Golden are scheduled to meet with residents of the community hosting the mural on Sept. 21 for their input on the design.
Other upcoming mural events include an Oct. 23 Mural Arts bus tour from Bryn Mawr’s campus and mural-painting days planned for Nov. 6 and 8. Details of these events will be announced as they approach.

Walinsky and and Golden, who was the recipient of the 2009 Hepburn Medal, are co-teaching a course, offered by the Growth and Structure of Cities program, on community mural projects.
