In the coming weeks, scores of high-school seniors and their families will visit Bryn Mawr for a glimpse of life on campus.
This Saturday, Nov. 13, the College will host its second “Fall Preview” day of the 2010 season. Students and their families will visit the Bryn Mawr campus for tours, sample classes, and information sessions. The event is the hosted by the Admissions and Financial Aid Offices, with plenty of help from faculty members, Dining Services, alumnae, and student ambassadors who will serve as hosts and panelists.
The Admissions Office is also hosting two “Bryn Mawr by Night” events — brief introductions to the College’s arts programming for prospective members of the Class of 2015 — in the coming weeks. High-school seniors are invited to visit campus to see the Bi-College Theater Program’s production of Alice Underground on Nov. 18 or a reading by acclaimed novelist, short-story writer and poet Ha Jin on Dec. 2. The program also includes a campus tour, dinner in the dining hall, and an overnight visit.
“Research tells us that the campus visit experience is one of the top two factors in students’ decisions about where to apply and enroll,” says Dean of Admissions Laurie Koehler. “As someone new to campus myself, I have a deep appreciation for the warm and welcoming environment that makes Bryn Mawr so special. In this spirit, I ask that you do everything possible to show our guests that they are welcome on the Bryn Mawr Campus.”
