Sales And a Deadline on Textbook Purchases as Bookshop Readies for New Management

Posted February 10th, 2011 at 4:05 pm.

Students who plan to buy textbooks for this semester at the Bookshop should do so before Monday, Feb. 14. After that date, the Bookshop will begin the process of returning books to the publishers in preparation for the transition of management operations to Follett Higher Education Group and cannot guarantee the availability of any textbooks.

All current textbooks will be gone by Feb. 28.

Textbooks for 2nd quarter classes ONLY will be available for sale following spring break.

These textbook returns are part of a larger effort to reduce inventory as the bookshop undergoes its management transition.  The bookshop will also be marking down many of its items through the month of February. Current offers include 50 percent off general reading books, Unemployed Philosophers dolls, all art prints, and select clothing items including sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweatpants, and children’s clothing.

The change in the bookshop’s management was announced in November.

The Follett Higher Education Group manages more than 850 campus bookstores nationwide, including those at Mt. Holyoke, Smith, and Williams Colleges.
