The Buzzing for Change program will be visiting Bryn Mawr on Wednesday, April 6, in the Main Lounge of the Campus Center from 1 to 5 p.m. This is a one day, student-run charity event in which participants either shave or cut their hair for Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs for children who lose their hair due to illness. Prior to the shave, participants are required to recruit sponsorship, 100% of which is donated to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, which works to improve the lives of children living with cancer.
Founded as a student organization at The George Washington University in 2002, the program has spread to numerous college campuses, including Bryn Mawr College, Drexel University, and the University of Pittsburgh.
For those who do not wish to cut their hair, there are other ways to support the cause, including volunteering, donating money, or even publicizing the event by wearing a “B4C” button.
