The Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards are given out by the National Association of College and University Food Services to celebrate exemplary menus, presentations, special event planning, and new dining concepts, and provide an avenue for sharing ideas and creative presentations in campus dining services.

This year Bryn Mawr’s Dining Services received a silver medal in the special event category for its Harry Potter-themed end-of-the-fall semester dinner at Thomas Great Hall. The award endorses the dinner’s popularity among Bryn Mawr students, who gobbled up hundreds of tickets to the event, and alumnae, whose responses to the photos linked from the College’s Facebook page made it one of the most-shared postings ever.
