From the Art Club Executive Board:
The Arnecliffe Art Studio- located across the street from Dalton on the way to Perry House- is open 24/7 for creative art making purposes. For the passcode to enter the studio, please email artclubexec.bmc(at)gmail(dot)com.
Art Club of Bryn Mawr hosts Community Art Night on Tuesdays from 8-10 p.m. and anyone who wishes to make art with friends, eat snacks, and listen to music is welcome. There will also be discussions on Art Club and the ways to get involved during this time. Art Club will keep the campus updated on classes they will teach this semester. The club is to start evening not-for credit-classes soon. Classes on batik-fabric dying process and sewing workshops will be offered. These are free and open to the whole college community.
The art supplies at Arnecliffe are provided through SGA funding and are for personal use. Clubs and groups such as Customs are expected to provide their own materials for group events- you are more than welcome to host them in Arnecliffe. To host a larger event in Arnecliffe, please email artclubexec.bmc(at)gmail(dot)com. Arnecliffe is a student operated space so users are expected to be respectful and put away supplies and projects after use. The Bryn Mawr community works together to maintain and enrich this space. If you wish to display your work of art, please put it up on the large cork board. Art Club welcomes comments to let them know how you are using the space and what you would like to see at Arnecliffe. A chalk board is provided to write supplies requests. The club is in the process of restocking the studio and once SGA funds are distributed, new art supplies will be purchased for the semester.
Art Club also partners with the CEO to teach Art to 4th graders at Overbrook Elementary on Friday afternoons from 1:30-3:30 pm (including transportation time). If you would like to get involved, please attend Art Club’s information session this Thursday the 15th in the Campus Center main lounge from 7-8 pm. Please contact Ariel Kay at aekay(at)brynmawr(dot)edu if you have questions.
