Research has consistently shown that the quality of visits to college campuses is one of the most important factors in students’ decisions about which college to attend. With this in mind, Bryn Mawr’s Admissions Office has made a concerted effort to improve the campus-visit experience for prospective students here, but the campus visit necessarily involves many members of the community who are not on the Admissions Office staff. When it comes to improving the campus visit, well—it takes a campus.
Next week, a presentation by Jeff Kallay and Trent Gilbert from TargetX Campus Visit Consulting will give members of the campus community a chance to learn how they can support the Admissions Office in this crucial aspect of attracting the best students to Bryn Mawr. Open to all members of the campus community, “It Takes a Campus to Stage a Campus Visit” will be offered twice on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the Campus Center Main Lounge:
The session will open with an overview from the Admissions Office of the improvements made to our campus visit for prospective students in the past year with the help of TargetX. Gilbert and Kallay will then discuss their work with Bryn Mawr and more general research about the campus visit.
The session will conclude with a discussion on how both drop-by visits and more structured upcoming events for prospective students and families can be made better with the help of Bryn Mawr staff and current students.
