Flexible Spending Account Open Enrollment
A memorandum was recently mailed to benefit-eligible employees advising that Open Enrollment for the 2012 Flexible Spending Account has begun and will run through Friday, December 16th. You may make your election here.

A current version of the Flexible Spending Account summary plan description is also now available on the Human Resources web site.  This is a legal document describing the plan and has been updated as of November 1, 2011 to include reference to the health savings account option that is available to most enrollees in the new high deductible Personal Choice plan.

TransitChek Update
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 raised the monthly salary reduction maximum for work-related transit expenses to $230.  This provision was set to expire at the beginning of 2011 but last December Congress extended this provision for one additional year.  A further extension is extremely unlikely and the maximum is expected to decrease to $125 starting in January 2012.  Please be advised that if you have a monthly TransitChek election in excess of $125, your election will be changed to $125 starting in January.  Also, due to Winter Break, you can pick up the January TransitCheks starting on December 15th.

Retirement Plan Summary Annual Report
The College is required to release a summary annual report in accordance with the requirements of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).  The summary annual report for the 2010 Bryn Mawr College Retirement Plan can be accessed here.
