Bryn Mawr’s Peer Mentoring Service is accepting applications for the 2012-13 academic year. Peer mentors are Bryn Mawr students who are trained to help fellow students learn study skills, focusing on the process of learning rather than the mastery of specific material.

Mentors undergo intensive training on campus just before Customs Week begins, spend 8 to 16 hours on the job during Customs Week, and work two to three hours per week during the academic year. Monthly meetings of mentors, outreach programs, and workshops are also part of the job.

Applications require two recommendations—one from a member of the faculty or staff and one from a peer—and are due by 8 p.m. March 2. For more information and a link to the online application for, see the Peer Mentoring page on the Dean’s Office website.
