Food Week, March 18-24, is a week of food-related events at the Tri-Co centered on issues of local food, food sustainability, food justice and access, vegetarianism and veganism, farming, and culinary careers.
Opening the week will be a lecture on culinary careers, sustainability, and food writing by author and chef Tamar Adler, Haverford ’99, on Sunday, March 18, at 7 p.m. in Kohlberg 115 at Swarthmore. Adler is the author of An Everlasting Meal: Cooking with Economy and Grace (Scribner, October 2011) and is a former editor of Harper’s Magazine. She is also the founding head chef of Farm 255 in Athens, Georgia, and cooked at Chez Panisse from 2007-2009. Her writing has appeared in Harper’s Magazine, The New York Times, The New Leader, Mother Jones, Huffington Post, Fine Cooking, Salon.com, Gift Taste, and Atlantic.com
among other publications.
