Recent Bryn Mawr College graduate Emily Kirchner ’12 has received the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) Student Employee of the Year Award.

This award is given annually to a full-time student on the basis of their reliability, quality of work, initiative, ability to work as part of a team, and overall contribution to their employer. Kirchner was praised for her ability to achieve academic success while working as head student supervisor for Bryn Mawr’s Dining Services Department.

As the national winner, Kirchner will receive a $5,000 scholarship and a plaque which will be presented to her at Bryn Mawr this fall.

“Emily is a strong leader who took her responsibilities in the dining hall just as seriously as her responsibilities in the classroom,” says Kirchner’s supervisor at Haffner Steven Sensenich. “In the coming years I hope we are able to continue and even expand on the environment of cooperation and teamwork that Emily created during her time at Haffner.”
