The following email was sent to faculty, staff, and students by Vanessa Christman, Assistant Dean and Director of Leadership and Community Development in the Pensby Center, on Friday, March 1:

Would you like to borrow one of the Black Cultural Center Library’s books or videos? While Perry House is offline, these materials are being housed at The Pensby Center on Cambrian Row. If you are interested in checking out a book or video, just do the following:

  1. Search Tripod at, indicating the title, author or keyword of the item you want to find.
  2. Place a hold on the item.
  3. You will receive an email when the book or video is ready for pickup.

Thanks to Elizabeth Latham (Information Services’ Library Assistant, Cataloging, Circulation, and Print Reserves) for all her work setting up this arrangement and to Sasha De La Cruz ’15 for serving as the BCC librarian!

Another collection, housed in Canaday, is the BMC NAACP Chapter bookshelf. Learn more about it here.
