Several Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research professors and alumnae will be panelists at the “Meeting Again at the Crossroads: Social Work and Public Health” symposium, held at the Solis-Cohen Auditorium at Thomas Jefferson University on April 4 at noon.
Although social work and public health share historical roots, their paths have diverged until recently. Today’s complex health issues require the expertise of both professions. The symposium will explore intersections among public health, social services, health care and policy.
Moderated by Bailey, the panelists will discuss the importance of a multidisciplinary perspective on health; implications of social work and public health principles and traditions for health and well-being; and the need for cross-disciplinary collaborations.
