The ensemble is geared towards playing repertoire from big band jazz history. We will hold at least one (1) performance this year. This is a high commitment ensemble, in that you will be expected to attend one 90-minute rehearsal a week.

For the audition, please come with some prepared scales of your choice and variety, including the chromatic scale. Also have prepared a written excerpt to be performed, and bring an extra copy of the music. If you feel comfortable improvising any style of music or a 12-bar blues form, you may include this as well.

Auditions are casual, so dress code is informal. Please arrive promptly before 8pm. Warm up space will be available from 6-8pm in Goodhart.
