The CDAs (Community Diversity Assistants) are hosting an event specifically for staff and faculty members in the hopes of beginning a dialogue on student experience with diversity on campus and in the classroom. CDAs are a team of students who live in each dorm and hold teas, facilitate discussions, and plan campus events about issues of diversity, identity, and social justice.
Dialogues of Diversity will be held next Thursday, April 24th 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. in Thomas Great Hall. Snacks will be provided.
This event is geared to get your perspectives and reflections on the state of diversity at Bryn Mawr. It will be both interactive and a time to reflect on the roles of faculty and staff members on campus in exploring diversity-related themes. In addition to discussing your questions, ideas, and needs, we will also be providing insight into student experiences. Also, we assure that this space will be safe and open space for people with varying levels of prior knowledge or experience (none necessary).
This is a faculty and staff only event facilitated by the CDA’s, who will be holding space for you to share your perspectives and to learn more about those of students. We plan for this event to grow into a larger faculty/staff workshop early next semester, which will be part of faculty/staff diversity training curriculum that the CDAs are currently creating. We encourage you will keep an eye out for such programming, and hope that you will help support our efforts in furthering understanding, knowledge, and reconciliation for everyone at Bryn Mawr.
