Dear Faculty and Staff,
I hope that this email finds you well and that you are having an enjoyable summer! The Self-Government Association has been busy planning several events for next year.
I am writing to let you know that Fall Plenary will be held on Sunday, September 28th at 12:00 PM.
Plenary is a time when members of the undergraduate student body come together to vote on resolutions written and presented by students. The purpose of Plenary is to foster beneficial discussion and change within the community. It is a long-standing tradition, and a strong demonstration of self-governance on which Bryn Mawr prides itself.
Plenary requires a presence of one-third of the undergraduate student body, which is usually around 450 students. This past academic year, we struggled to reach quorum in the fall and lost quorum after four hours in the spring. That being said, planning is well underway to emphasize to students how Plenary can be used as a platform for discussion and change on campus. We have created a better study space and plan to better advertise written resolutions to start a campus-wide discussion preceding Plenary.
We are now reaching out to you, faculty and staff, in hopes that you will remember this date as you complete syllabi and schedules.
The SGA Executive Board is moving toward a year of change, and we appreciate your support! We look forward to working with you in the fall. Please feel free to contact me, or the SGA Executive Board at firstname.lastname@example.org, with questions or suggestions you might have.
All the best,
