JoAnne Fischer, MSS ‘73 received the 2014 Maternal Child Health Outstanding Leadership & Advocacy Award during the Martha May Eliot Luncheon at the annual American Public Health Association Conference. This award recognizes leaders who serve at a local, state or national level and have made significant contributions to the field by creating the political will to improve the health of mothers and children. Also this year, JoAnne received emeritus status from APHA for being a member for 40 years. We are proud of her achievements here in Philadelphia, the state of Pennsylvania, the U.S. and the world.
