The Phebe Anna Thorne School is now accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year. Bryn Mawr College staff and faculty are given priority for enrollment through the application deadline of Feb. 1.

The Phebe Anna Thorne staff operates two schools, a preschool on Bryn Mawr’s campus and a kindergarten on Haverford’s campus.  The preschool is a play-based program for children who have turned three by September. It offers a variety of programs, including half-day programs, either morning programs from 9 a.m. to noon or afternoon programs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., as well as combinations of morning and afternoon programs.

The kindergarten provides an appropriate combination of play and solid academics in which children continue to experience the joy of learning. It offers full-day programs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Also available are programs for toddlers: “Toddler Time,” a one-day-per-week program for children ages 21-25 months by Sept. 1 and “Nearly Threes,” a two-day-per-week program for children ages 27-35 months by Sept. 1.

In addition to these traditional programs, Thorne School also offers language-enrichment preschool and kindergarten programs for children with identified speech and language delays.

More information about these programs, as well as information on scheduling tours of the school can be found at or by contacting Marilyn Henkelman at
