Asked for $5 contributions, members of the Bryn Mawr faculty and staff contributed $855 to breast-cancer research on National Denim Day last Friday, says Deborah Harley of Human Resources, who coordinated the effort on campus.
The nationwide fundraising event invites workplaces to adopt a casual dress code for the day, encouraging employees to wear jeans to work in exchange for a $5 donation to breast cancer research. At Bryn Mawr, contributors received pink-ribbon pins and a coupon for a free drink at the College’s Uncommon Grounds Cafe.
