The Bryn Mawr College Staff Association’s annual year-end sale of items left behind by departing students garnered, $1,990 this year, reports sale organizer Ann Ogle. Volunteers organized and sold thousands of items. After the sale wrapped up, the association recycled and donated much of the remainder. Here’s where some of those items went:

  • Project Home received new, unopened toiletries
  • The Pennsylvania SPCA was given a large bag of towels for animal grooming and bedding
  • The Upper Darby School District received several large boxes of school supplies
  • The Salvation Army scored 49 large bags of clothes and 30 boxes of bric-a-brac
  • Reuse-a-shoe got three large trash bags full of athletic shoes
  • The Humane Society of the United States’ “Coats for Cubs” program got a large bag of fur items that will be used to keep orphaned and injured wildlife warm during the winter months
  • Three large bags of fleeces and sweatshirts went to an orphanage in Tanzania

Medicines, electronics, scrap metal, and cosmetics containers were also recycled.
