Auditions for Renaissance Choir

The following email was sent to faculty, students, and staff by Choir Director John Andrew Bailey on Wednesday, September 2.

The Bryn Mawr Renaissance Choir is holding auditions for the 2015-16 season.

The choir is a small (25-30 voice), a capella group that sings polyphonic music from about 1400 to 1630, the choir draws members from student, faculty, and staff of Bryn Mawr and Haverford College, and from the surrounding community.

The choir rehearses on Sunday evenings from 7pm to 9:30pm in the Music Room of Goodhart Hall, in preparation for our fall concert, which will features settings of texts from the Song of Songs by Leonhard Lechner, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, William Billings, Pierre Moulu, Clemens non Papa, and Francisco Guerrero.

Auditions will appointments will be scheduled, 5pm-7pm, Sunday 6 September Goodhart Music Room. (Appointments are also possible later in the week for 9/6-9/13 for singers who cannot make the Sunday afternoon time slot.)
